This spot is the culmination of a decade of living in the Detroit area and working at Carhartt. Coming from Boston, I always had a lot of pride for the city and our sports teams. When I arrived in Detroit, I saw a whole different sense of pride. Pride for the city itself and the work they have put in to make it better. Proud to be the underdog and the overlooked. That was something I never saw coming from a city like Boston, and it’s what I love most about Detroit. That is what led me to writing this script. I wanted to show off the true character of the city.
